What I don't say

“Any traffic in the area, please advise” — AC 90-66 calls this one out by name. It adds nothing; just announce your position.
“Clear of the active” — say the runway number. “The active” is ambiguous anywhere more than one runway can be in use.
“Taking the runway” — announce “departing runway two five” instead.

Two habits that help me: full callsign on every call until ATC shortens it first, and when I miss something, a plain “say again” beats guessing.
